Yizkor, a special memorial prayer for the departed, is recited in the synagogue four times a year; Yom Kippur, Shemini Atzeret, Shavuot and Passover.

The Yizkor is more than a service of remembrance, but rather it is a time for the relatives of the departed to connect with the souls of their loved ones on a deeper level.
Tradition has it that during the Yizkor service, the souls of the departed descend from heaven and are joined with those who are close to them.

If you would like Yizkor to be recited for your dearly departed and want to be added to the DJCC Yizkor list please fill out the form below.

Your participation in the Yizkor list ensures that Yizkor will be said for them, regardless of your attendance at the Yizkor service, and most importantly, you will be giving charity in memory of your dearly departed.

Please be sure to submit names before each holiday.  Yizkor is recited on Yom Kippur , Sukkot, Shavuot and Pesach.
If you purchase a memorial plaque; the names remain on the list and you do not need to update each holiday.

Suggested donation minimum of $36 for each name.
This tzedakah is in the name of your loved one for an Aliyah’s Neshama- ‘elevation of their soul’ which only we can accomplish in this world for those in the next.

Be sure to fill in the information below, including the name of the deceased, the father’s name, and the date of passing.
